Knitting machinery can be found in many of the homes, which are even bread and butter for many of the people around the country. The machine has a wheel method, which produces a fabric similar to hand knitting. Knitting proceeds more quickly than in hand knitting, where (usually two) straight needles are held in the hand and each stitch is manipulated individually across the row. Knitting machines work an entire row of loops in a single movement. Typically, commercial and home sock knitting machines are circular or tubular in form, utilizing a wheel or circle of latch-type needles to hold and form the stitches used to create the sock. The circular wheel helps to form a seamless tube of knitting that can be shaped and fashioned into the well-known sock shape. If the knitter is experienced and the proper gauge used for the yarn being worked, it will be nearly impossible to see or feel the seam after they are finished.
